Our Mission
Practice getting good at being good—not getting good at being bad
RT Athletics was built on a simple belief: sports should develop confidence, character, and connection—not just skill.

We provide private and group coaching for athletes of all ages in Pickleball, Tennis, and Volleyball, focused on strong fundamentals, high effort, and a positive environment where everyone is included. Whether you're just starting or looking to take your game to the next level, our mission is to help you grow—on and off the field.

We’re not just building better athletes.
We’re building better people.
Coach Max: Founder & Head Coach
Building disciplined, high-performance athletes through intelligent, modern training
Coach Max is a multi-sport performance coach specializing in tennis, pickleball, and volleyball, with a mission to develop complete athletes who can think, adapt, and compete at a high level across multiple sports.

With over 20+ years of tennis experience, Max was an All-State high school player with media recognition and has competed internationally, including tournament play in Japan. He has coached youth tennis development since the age of 18 and is currently a badged Development Coach and advancing his pathway toward becoming a Professional Coach through the United States Tennis Association.

In volleyball, Max brings over 18 years of competitive experience, including international tournament victories in Okinawa and Miyakojima, Japan, as well as multiple podium finishes in AVP-sanctioned events. He has trained high-level athletes, including the Weathers twins in North Carolina, who concurrently trained with Olympic gold medalist players.

As a PCI Certified Pickleball Coach, Max applies his cross-sport knowledge to one of the fastest-growing sports in the country—helping athletes develop strategy, consistency, and confidence through structured progression.
Max’s coaching style is defined by high-intensity, detail-focused training balanced with an engaging and competitive environment. He emphasizes teaching athletes how to make the most statistically advantageous decisions in real time, rather than relying on raw power alone. His sessions challenge players not just physically, but mentally—building faster decision-making, discipline, and competitive awareness.

Before launching RT Athletics, Max worked as a professional personal trainer and served in the United States Marine Corps. These experiences shaped his commitment to accountability, leadership, and resilience, which are now core pillars of his coaching philosophy.

With a background in Exercise Science, Business, and Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt), Max applies a Kaizen approach to coaching—focusing on continuous improvement, innovation, and measurable progress. He actively competes in the sports he coaches to ensure his methods stay current, effective, and aligned with the modern game.
At RT Athletics, Max is building more than athletes—he’s building a community of disciplined competitors. His long-term vision is to establish a training environment so strong that athletes and families are drawn to the area for its reputation in sports development.
“Coaching should have purpose. It should evolve with the game, be backed by science, and produce real results.”
The Team
